GEW Award Nominations Announced

Host organizations from 36 countries were nominated this week for the annual GEW Awards.

Through GEW campaigns in November as well as a variety of efforts throughout the year, host organizations in over 150 countries work to strengthen their entrepreneurship ecosystems on a national and regional level. Since their inception in 2009, the GEW Awards have been an opportunity to recognize these efforts.

A favorite in past years, the Country of the Year award is always highly anticipated. This year, host organizations from Algeria, China, Germany, Poland and Russia are competing for the prize.

As Global Entrepreneurship Week continues to grow, the awards evolve to address different facets of the campaigns run in all corners of the world. The Buzz Builder Award for example, was revised this year to reflect the strides host organizations are making, using new and old media to grow their campaigns.

In addition, partners like Get in the Ring and Creative Business Cup take advantage of the GEW Awards to reward organizers on a national level who have embraced the competition and strive to grow it in their region.

The seventh installment of the GEW Awards Ceremony will take place on March 18, 2015, during theGlobal Entrepreneurship Congress in Milan.
